Element Financial's wide range of processing solutions, primarily focused on debit-based payment channels, provide API connectivity to bank transfer and localized debit clearing channels in 32 countries and are designed to meet the needs of global ecommerce merchants.

These turn-key solutions are delivered as Web Services integrated through a secure XML API.

STANDARD PROCESSING SOLUTIONS
PROVIDES BASIC DEBIT CHANNEL ACCESS FOR MERCHANTS WITH IN-HOUSE RISK MANAGEMENT SYSTEMS.

Element Financial's standard processing solution provides a processing platform without any risk management or fraud scrubbing. Intended primarily for sophisticated high-volume merchants, this solution is ideal for merchants that have direct processing and risk integrations as well as extensive in-house processing and fraud management resources.

The standard processing solution allows merchants to outsource the “processing engine” and IT infrastructure, while maintaining control of the transaction and risk management processes. This implementation requires merchants to collect and manage consumer payment data as well as maintain their integrations with clearing networks and risk providers.
IDENTITY VERIFICATION
CONSUMER IDENTITY INFORMATION AUTHENTICATED IN REAL TIME.

Element Financial's Identity Verification service (IDV) is a multi-tiered transactional “decision engine” designed specifically to manage transaction risk in the Customer Not Present (CNP) environment. Developed originally as a component of the Element Financial Managed Processing Solutions, the solution is now offered on a stand-alone basis as an API-based Web Service.

The IDV service is a multifaceted risk engine, incorporating geo-location, identity, date of birth, and address verification. It is based on a proprietary rules and decision engine that leverages both IP geo-location and debit and credit bureau data. Unlike most fraud tools, the IDV system is not dependent on the type of payment method being used by the customer. It can be employed with any payment type, from credit cards to bank transfers and online debit solutions.

The solution is provided as a secure Web service that can easily be integrated into a merchant's payment process without complex system integration requirements. The merchant simply submits data through the secure API and the IDV solution responds in real time on a transaction-by-transaction basis with a positive or negative identity verification result.

TRANSACTION LIMIT MANAGEMENT
MAXIMIZE TRANSACTION VOLUME WHILE LIMITING LOSSES DUE TO RETURNED TRANSACTIONS.

Element Financial's Transaction Limit Management system can be leveraged with the Element Financial Return Risk Predictive Score or with a merchant's own consumer account registration risk management logic. The system manages consumer transaction limits for the lifetime of the consumer on a given ecommerce site, maximizing transaction volume while limiting losses due to returned transactions. It is used primarily for bank transfer and debit-based channels where limit management is not an inherent component of the payment clearing channel.

The Transaction Limit Management system is comprised of multiple transaction limit categories, each configurable by daily, 7-day, and 30-day rolling limits. Consumers are assigned to a limit category based on their initial return risk predictive score. Automated thresholds and transaction status tracking graduate consumers to higher limit categories based on positive spending patterns, or will reduce spending limits in response to negative consumer behaviour, such as returned transactions.
NEGATIVE DATABASE
REDUCE THE RISK OF FRAUD THROUGH REAL-TIME ACCESS TO OUR EXTENSIVE NEGATIVE DATABASE.

Merchants can reduce the risk of fraud through real-time access to Element Financial's proprietary Negative Database, which has been compiled over more than a decade of high volume payment processing in the online environment and includes identity, IP address, bank account, and routing data. The negative database is payment channel agnostic and can be deployed as a fraud mitigation tool for both credit and debit-based clearing channels. It can be used as a stand-alone solution or an additional scrubbing tool when coupled with Element Financial's IDV solution.
